COACH TOM
Coaching endurance and team sports for over 25 years
I have over 30 years coaching experience working with all levels of athletes from young kids to aging adults, from beginners to elite athletes. Along with my numerous coaching certifications and extensive real-life experience, I have a college degree in exercise science. In addition to providing personal training, I have coached high school and collegiate teams, junior Olympic programs, as well as individual athletes as their head coach. Many of my athletes have gone on to become national qualifiers, win conference titles, regional and sectional titles, as well as finish on the podiums of nationals.
ASSISTANT COACH CANDACE

Coach Candace has a competitive swimming background. She currently lives in MN and grew up in the Chicagoland area. She is a degreed Engineer and not only loves triathlon but she mountain bikes, trail runs, Cross county skis, and Snow boards. She has mostly raced in the Midwest and traveled by car. However, more recently she has been flying to more races. Coach Candace is a detail orientated coach who is there to support your goals and is quick to answer questions you have. When she is not training for 70.3 Worlds in St George or Kona she is managing her team at Caterpillar. She has been helping make videos on a number of topics from how to organize your drop bags for race day to tips on staying in an Air BNB for big races.
ENDURANCE COACHING
As a certified trainer, I offer a wide range of fitness services and training styles. True coaching is more than just getting you into shape. I also help with improving endurance, building strength, rehabilitating from injury, and sports-specific training. You can choose from a wide array of existing training options, or you can design your own.
RUNNING
TRIATHLO N
CYCLING
Ultras, Marathons, Half Marathons, 10k, 5k, Trail Running
This is where it all began. I started writing running plans and helping people with their training back in 1995. Since then, I've coached athletes in everything from running their first marathon to qualifying for Boston or competing on the CARA (Chicago Area Runner's Association) circuit. I can help you whether you're hoping to run your first 5K or trying to get a PR in the marathon or Qualify for Boston!
Any distance from Sprint Tris to Ironman Events
All training programs I write are custom to your goals and lifestyle. I use the latest scientific methods while not losing touch with the art side of coaching. It is vital to me that you have a balanced approach and can have as much time for family and work while still training to meet your triathlon goals.
Mountain and Road Biking, Cycle-cross, Time-trials
Whether you're looking to win a race to just being stronger on the bike and have better bike handling skills, I can help. Every year I work with athletes in time-trailing, cycle-cross and Mountain bike racing. I will show you how to increase your FTP (functional threshold power), improve your bike handling techniques and endurance, as well as become a more aero and efficient rider.
